Self-Led Implementation Checklist

Using these resources independently? Here's a practical path forward.

  • Week 1: Download the Break Schedule Template and Movement Menu. Identify 3–4 break types your team might adopt.
  • Week 2: Use Daily Prompt Examples to draft a week's worth of messages. Adjust timing and language to match your team's rhythm.
  • Week 3: Launch. Send daily prompts for 2 weeks to test adoption and refine based on early feedback.
  • Week 4: Introduce the Habit Tracking Checklist. Make participation optional; frame it as "notice what works for you."
  • Weeks 5–8: If momentum is building, consider a shared break ritual. Use the Team Ritual Guide to design something lightweight.
  • Week 12: Send the Reflection Workbook. Ask: What stuck? What will we keep? How do we sustain this independently?

Additional Learning

In-depth reading on break culture and remote work.

Recommended Reading

  • Break theory & focus: Research on ultradian rhythms and attention restoration suggests breaks are more effective when aligned with natural work cycles (typically 60–90 minutes). Educational background, not medical guidance.
  • Remote work culture: Studies on distributed teams highlight the importance of intentional rituals and communication to reduce isolation. Informational reference.
  • Habit formation: The habit loop (cue, action, reward, repetition) is well-documented in behavioural science. Our programmes apply this structure to break-building.
